Supporting Youth Behavioral Health: Key Issues, Strategies, and Referral Pathways

Join The Literacy Cooperative and the 2Gen Collaborative on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM to learn from two Early Childhood Mental Health specialists about the key issues and strategies for supporting youth behavioral health. The presentation will include insights as well as referral recommendations.
About the presenters:
Catherine Gasper has a master’s degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University and is a licensed social worker. She is currently employed as an Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist at OhioGuidestone. For the past nine years, Catherine has worked as a therapist, specializing in providing both individual and family therapy to children birth to 6 years old. Catherine has her ECMH credential, is a rostered Child Parent Psychotherapy therapist and has been accredited in Triple P (Primary Care, Discussion Group and PECE). Catherine has experience consulting about the social-emotional, behavior and mental health needs of young children and has collaborated many community programs including Safe Babies, the Cuyahoga County Early Intervention Teams, childcare centers, schools and SPARK.
Kaylin Schaefer has a master’s degree in social work from University at Buffalo and is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision designation. She currently holds the position of Assistant Director of Community Counseling at OhioGuidestone. Kaylin has over 15 years of experience in the youth behavioral health field. Her specialty is in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. Kaylin has her certification in Triple P levels 2, 3, AND 4. Kaylin has an Ohio Infant Mental Health Practitioner Level III credential as well as her Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant credential through the state of Ohio.
