Celebrate Read Across America Day 2024

Read Across America Day was launched in 1998 by the National Education Association (NEA) and guided by a committee of educators. NEA’s Read Across America is the nation’s largest celebration of reading. This year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources that are about everyone, for everyone. 2024 Theme: Celebrating a Nation of Diverse Readers.

Dolly Parton Virtual Reading “Max and the Tag-Along Moon”

  • Watch this special encore of “Goodnight with Dolly” online series which features Dolly Parton reading Floyd’s “Max and the Tag-Along Moon” and include a special in memoriam to Floyd to close out the very special encore presentation.

Imagination Library Virtual Story Time: The Gingerbread Man Loose on the Fire Truck

  • Especially for children up to age 5, this program will feature reading, music and author Laura Murray. This program is presented by the Library of Congress and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Murray’s book “The Gingerbread Man Loose on the Fire Truck” was recently included in the Imagination Library.

Imagination Library Virtual Story Time: I Just Want to Say Good Night

  • Especially for children up to age 5, this program featured reading, music and special guest reader, author Rachel Isadora. This program is presented by the Library of Congress and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Three of Isadora’s books have been included in the Imagination Library: “I Just Want to Say Good Night,” “Jake at Gymnastics” and “I Hear a Pickle.”
