Career Pathway Engagement
Adult Educators Consortium
The Literacy Cooperative works with a team of adult educators with a common goal to serve the workforce and education needs of adults in Cuyahoga, Lorain, and Summit counties. Aspire Greater Cleveland, Cuyahoga Community College Aspire, Lorain County Community College Aspire, Polaris Aspire, and Project Learn of Summit County formed a partnership with The Literacy Cooperative to maximize resources, share expertise, and work jointly to provide adult basic education, including contextualized and workplace literacy, HSE instructions, and English as a Second Language education programming.
In order to achieve this goal, each institution will:
- Participate in joint program development as appropriate to meet workforce and literacy education needs.
- Provide support that helps adult learners overcome both academic and non-academic barriers.
- Share marketing efforts.
- Share expertise to better serve Cuyahoga, Lorain, and Summit counties and the region.
The Literacy Cooperative convenes adult education providers, employers, literacy funders, and providers of targeted populations and subgroups to understand the literacy issues and bring consensus and solutions to address their needs; develop and evaluate shared measures; provide continuous communications among partners regarding promising practices and evidence-based curricula; reinforce and advocate for activities to advance literacy levels in our community including outreach and marketing.
