This is Your Brain on Stress-And What We Can Do about It
Many of us have heard the notion that “stress kills”, but few know what stress does over time to “kill” your brain. This is Your Brain on Stress: What Stress Does to Your Brain and What We Can Do About It is a workshop about the impact of stress on the brain and how stress impacts teaching and learning.
In this workshop we will learn how stress impacts executive functions such as memory, planning, self-control, and time management. In addition, participants will learn research-based strategies to reverse damage done to the brain by stress and best practices that allow one to cope with stress effectively to preserve a sharp mind and overall health so we may be better teachers who help develop better learners.
