TINY MATHEMATICIANS: SPARKING A LOVE FOR EARLY MATH

Friday, March 14, 10 am – 12 pm EST

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRACKS:

Early Childhood Education | Critical Thinking Skills | Mathematics

Early math ability is the biggest predictor of academic success in young children. Learn how you can add more math talk into your daily routine and how it can enhance what you already do through books, talking, and everyday activities. At the end of this session, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify how early math skills can enhance a child’s education and how it relates to all areas of development.
  • Create a list of math words, identify how and why early math works, and use math activities to enhance and celebrate curiosity through inquiry-based learning.
  • Identify ways to “mathematize” everyday classroom routines.

At publication, this session is pending approval for OCCRRA credit. Register for this session to receive updates on its Ohio-approved training status.
