CLE Bee V – October 14, 2020

On October 14, 2020, we had a successful virtual Corporate Spelling Bee! CLE Bee V had an amazing turn out of sixteen competing teams, two hosts, two word readers, many Cleveland celebrity appearances, Queen Bee Betsy Kling, and over 140 audience members on Zoom and Facebook Live.

The Bee began with a happy half-hour, hosted by Vice President of Strategic Affairs Laurie Atkins, and Resource Development Manager McKenzae Bartels. We played games, watched highlights from the very first CLE Bee, and gathered donations and support for literacy.

The competition was fast-paced and intense, with many teams neck and neck throughout the night!

The final four was down to Medical Mutual, Hyland, Case Western Reserve University, and Act 3.

And, THE GRAND CHAMPION was… Hyland Software! Congratulations to you, to the runners up, and to all who took on the spelling challenge. Those words were not easy to spell!

In all, over $72,000 was raised to further the mission of supporting literacy and workforce development in Cuyahoga County. These funds will go to providing children with free books, hosting free professional development sessions, assisting partner organizations, and empowering individuals to achieve degrees and find a career pathway.
