How to Celebrate Dolly Parton Day in Northeast Ohio
The Literacy Cooperative is celebrating Dolly Parton Day on September 25, a proclamation declared by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jim Tressel.
September 25 is inspired by Dolly Parton’s iconic song “9 to 5.”
The Dollywood Foundation and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library are also introducing Give Like Dolly Day, a new annual tradition on the same day, honoring her legacy of giving back to children.
The Dollywood Foundation encourages communities to Give, Share and Celebrate. Here in Cuyahoga County, The Literacy Cooperative is proud to bring that spirit to our community as the local program partner for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
As a local program partner, The Literacy Cooperative raises funds to cover the cost of books and mailing, enrolls children, builds awareness, and connects families with literacy resources. Every contribution helps us reach more children across Cuyahoga County.
Here is how you can contribute!
Give
- Sponsoring local children by:
- Making a meaningful gift of $9.25, $25, or any amount to support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Cuyahoga County.
- Matching employee donations
- Purchasing or donating from a featured product or sale
- Hosting a fundraiser or workplace challenge

Help spread the word about Imagination Library!
- Share information about the program
- Encourage eligible families to enroll
- Share a family story or photo of a child enjoying an Imagination Library book
